W. Massey and L. Sanders, in which they reproduce European paintings showing an upgoing toe in the infant Christ.1I wish to point out that they have also reproduced European writing, but without quotation. The introductory paragraphs about the history of Babinski's sign are almost literal transcriptions from my 1977 thesis,2 including references to original papers in French, German, and English. The history of neurology may not be big science, but I think it appropriate to set the record straight.
