AB • Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy occurred in two homosexual men affected with acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Both patients received HLA-matched platelet transfusions in an attempt to increase their immune status, but we were unsuccessful in altering their fatal clinical course.
