Recognition of this entity in its early stages and prompt surgical intervention aimed at halting the dissection seem to be the only forms of treatment that could prevent a serious outcome.1 Accurate angiographic interpretation may be of assistance in the early diagnosis of this entity.1 Although most reported cases of dissection of intracranial vessels have been fatal, and the lesions have been identified only at the time of autopsy, successful surgical intervention by ligation
