To the Editor We read with interest the study from Yokoyama et al.1 In this study, Yokoyama et al1 investigated the genetic overlap between Alzheimer disease and immune-mediated diseases including Crohn disease, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, type 1 diabetes, celiac disease, and psoriasis using 7 genome-wide association study summary data sets. They reported 8 single-nucleotide polymorphisms associated with both Alzheimer disease and immune-mediated diseases, especially rs2516049 (HLA-DRB5) and rs12570088 (IPMK).1 Using a gene expression data set, they further identified significantly altered expression of HLA-DRA and IPMK in Alzheimer disease brains compared with control brains.1
