In Reply We thank Bianchin and colleagues for their interest in our systematic review and meta-analysis.1 The objective of our study was to synthesize the available evidence to determine the overall risks and benefits of stent retrievers in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). To do so, we included all available randomized clinical trials comparing the use of stent retrievers in conjunction with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator vs recombinant tissue plasminogen activator alone, regardless of AIS location. However, all of the available randomized clinical trials restricted inclusion to patients with AIS of the anterior circulation.
