To the Editor We read with interest the study by Nagaraja et al1 regarding their observation about the relationship between neurologic improvement with decline in blood pressure and recanalization in acute ischemic stroke. Of various postulated mechanisms for this phenomenon, arterial recanalization was deemed to be the most plausible. However, the relationship between arterial recanalization and reduction in blood pressure remains poorly understood.
