This is the second edition of this book, the first edition of which is already “the” reference book in epilepsy. The editors, together with 5 associate editors and a large group of section editors, have brought together more than 300 well-known experts in the different fields of epilepsy to write something that is assumed to be the most current knowledge.
The book consists of 3 volumes and 12 sections dealing with epidemiology, pathology, genetics, neurobiology, phenomenology (syndromes) diagnostics, treatment, the different antiepileptic drugs, treatment with the different antiepileptic drugs and surgical treatment, psychiatric issues, and the social aspects of epilepsy. The last chapter presents the organizational points of health care in different countries and different epilepsy surgical programs. All of this information is presented on more than 2900 tightly typed pages.
